I have a confession to make. As a craft-lover, some of my best ideas come in the middle of the night when I can’t sleep. The other week it was about 20 things to do with perler beads, including these perler bead buttons. I wrote a list in my mind before I drifted off to sleep and luckily I still remembered them when I woke up! My favorite thing about these buttons? They’re quick and easy to make! And add a pop of color to a thrifted sweater!

The only challenge with this project was making the buttonholes bigger since the perler bead buttons were larger than the original ones. I just made the new button holes over the old ones. Here’s a great tutorial for making button holes if you’ve never done them (consulting your machine’s manual can help, too).
The extra-big buttons are easy for little hands!
Tip: Make sure you wash your garment by hand and air dry. You wouldn’t want the perler beads melting in the washer or dryer!
